Research
Exploring middle class hopes and aspirations related to home
12 Co-creation focus groups
We used focus groups as a medium to both test and develop new ideas related to the products and services we were developing
78 Home visits
Participant observation was key to understanding our users’ frustrations with their homes. We developed an in-house design service in order to test concepts in field.
38 Expert interviews and workshops
Working closing with construction, design, and finance experts, we pressure tested our business model while working to understand how to best optimize the entire value chain.
15 Online surveys and tests
A/B testing allowed us to define must-have services and features and gauge willingness to pay.
15+ Company concepts tested
We tested low fidelity prototypes of entirely different kinds of companies.
At the end of each weekly sprint, we synthesized leanings
A digitally aid design tool for contractors
We discovered that the most common pain in the home remodeling process was expectations not matching outcomes. Contractors had no way of producing quick visualizations and renders for clients. So we built a tool that allowed for quick, on-the-spot design and rendering, allowing contractors to close with clients on the first visit.
